The Ministry aims to the following:-
1- Orientation of industrial and mineral activities to cope with the State industrial policy.
2- Setting of industrial policy and defining its sectors aims and indicators in the State general frame work, orienting, evaluating its plans implementation results, adopting its marketing and financial policies and preparing the policy to be worked out within the market economy.
3- Increasing industrial sector contribution in the Iraqi gross domestic production.
4- Increasing (non Oil) natural mineral wealth contribution in the Iraqi gross domestic production.
5- Expanding private sector role in industrial development and industrial economic activity to have a master role in this activity.
